Description
Anokha, meaning "unique" in Hindi, is an Indian restaurant situated in a historic Grade II listed building in the heart of London's City district. Originally a tea warehouse owned by the East India Company, the venue exudes a blend of contemporary elegance and Indian ethnic charm. Upon descending the grand staircase, guests are greeted by a 10-metre-long onyx-lit bar and luxurious furnishings that set the tone for a refined dining experience. The menu at Anokha offers a modern take on traditional Indian cuisine, featuring specialties such as the Shahi Gosht Biryani—a slow-cooked lamb and basmati rice dish—and the Gulap Chilli Gosht, barbecued lamb cubes in a medium-spiced garlic and chili sauce. Vegetarians and vegans are well-catered for, with plant-based versions of classics like chicken tikka masala and lamb rogan josh. The restaurant also boasts an extensive selection of wines, spirits, and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails.
